We surveyed thousands of funders about where they get their information. How do you compare?
In 2020, the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation partnered with Engage R+D and Equal Measure on an evaluation of its Knowledge for Better Philanthropy strategy, which supports the development of high-quality knowledge to inform and improve philanthropic practice. As part of this evaluation, we surveyed more than 1,500 funders across the United States about how they find and use knowledge in their practice. The study shed light on what information funders are seeking, which sources are most influential in creating change, and whose voices are included in the process.
