Grantee Learning Community
The TK Foundation’s Youth Development Fund is a two-year pilot program focused on building the capacity of high performing nonprofits to advance youth-centered systems-change. In January 2021, the TK Foundation selected eleven grantees to receive funding to bolster their organizational capacity to strengthen systems and policy change efforts that support youth. In addition to funding, the program included other components such as a grantee learning community, technical assistance, and training as needed.
Engage R+D partnered with the TK Foundation as the design and implementation partner for the Youth Development Fund’s Capacity Building Cohort. Our goal was to be responsive and not prescriptive, while providing common content and space for peer learning, collaboration, and field-building over the two-year engagement. Grantees drew from their own experiences to co-design, co-lead, and share insights through the learning community. Together, they decided what they wanted to learn and led sessions sharing their expertise with one another.
