Paving the Way for Inclusive Economic Recovery by Prioritizing Racial Equity
Through the Priority Communities Initiative, The James Irvine Foundation has partnered with five communities across California to support inclusive economic planning and a California where all low-income workers have the power to advance economically. Engage R+D is pleased to serve as the Foundation's learning and evaluation partner for this initiative, partnering with the communities of Fresno, San Bernardino, Salinas, Riverside, and Stockton. To better understand what it takes to spur inclusive and vibrant regional economies, this case study features the experience of Fresno DRIVE, a cross-sector partnership working to fundamentally transform the Greater Fresno area by 2030 by creating opportunities for all residents to achieve real economic mobility. This case study documents its origin story and reflections on their road to readiness from over 20 DRIVE partners on what it really takes to foster inclusive leadership, authentically engage community, and center racial equity in a cross-sector partnership.
