Rafael collaborates with foundations, nonprofits, and public agencies to design, implement, and evaluate strategic initiatives. He finds joy in helping teams and organizations realize their potential through short- and long-term projects, using cultural humility, intersectionality, and stakeholder empowerment within a coaching framework.

With over seven years of experience in applied research, evaluation, and community engagement, Rafael joined Engage R+D with a solid foundation in supporting social sector organizations. His career began with roles in evaluation and project management in adult literacy and youth development. He excels in using participatory research techniques to foster shared goal alignment and achievement in communities.

Rafael is skilled in facilitating partnerships for community-based organizations and statewide coalitions. He applies this expertise in client engagements at Engage R+D and community-led projects in the San Francisco Bay Area. Additionally, Rafael has significant experience in visual and process design techniques to support stakeholders in the governmental, non-profit, and private sectors. He is a native speaker of both English and Spanish.
